Return Of The Rudeboy

Dean Chalkley

Return of the Rudeboy is an immersive exhibition exploring the style, swagger and significance of the 21st century Rudeboy, including original photography, film, installations and a programme of live events. Created by Photographer and Film maker Dean Chalkley and Creative Director Harris Elliott, the depiction reveals a collective of sharply dressed individuals who exemplify an important and rarely documented subculture. The exhibition debuted at Somerset House, London, in 2014 and was heralded as an important body of work, featuring in The Observer, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Creative Review, It’s Nice That and many more. It attracted a new and more diverse audience to the gallery and more than doubled the anticipated visitor numbers. The exhibition has subsequently shown at Laforet Museum Harajuku, Tokyo and in 2015 the Return of the Rudeboy book was launched.

Lo And Behold produced the London exhibition and continue to document and progress its cultural and creative significance.
